Patient Group

Northern Road Surgery Patient Group discusses relevant issues, identifies patient need and supports the Practice in continuing to improve the service for our patients.

The Patient Group is proud of its previous achievements:

• Instrumental in procuring the Phlebotomy (blood taking) at the surgery. The group felt this service would be of immense benefit to patients who are now able to make an appointment to have their blood test, rather than attending the walk in services in Cosham High Street.

• Setting up the first (of many hopefully) Patient Open Evenings, where patients were able to find out more about the services the surgery offers, over a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie.

• Re-establishment of the "Life Channel" televison service to the surgery, with the help of Penny Mordaunt, Local MP.

• Greater involvement with other local Patient Groups

• We help to design the patient survey that is sent out by the Practice by email

The Group meets once every three to four months, usually over lunch. We often have speakers of interest, and have in the past been fortunate enough to have a tour of QA hospital, arranged specially for our group.
